Is the A1 a real robotic cleaner or a budget toy?

It is a real robotic cleaner with a sealed motor, lithium-ion battery, and onboard filter basket - just at the entry price tier. The trade-off versus higher-priced WYBOT models is fewer features: floor-only cleaning (no wall climb, no waterline), shorter runtime, and no app or vision system. For small above-ground pools or as a supplementary cleaner for a larger pool, it does its job.

Will it clean the walls or just the floor?

Floor only. The A1 lacks the suction power and drive system needed for wall climbing. It moves around the pool floor in a programmed pattern, vacuuming debris into its basket. For walls and waterline cleaning, the C-series or M-series models are required.

What size pool is it good for?

Above-ground pools up to about 800 square feet (74 m²), or as a floor-only supplement in larger inground pools. The 80-minute runtime covers a typical 18-foot round above-ground pool floor in a single cycle with margin to spare. How does it know where to go without a camera or app?

The A1 uses a fixed cleaning algorithm with bump-and-turn obstacle response. When it hits a wall or obstacle, it reverses, rotates a fixed angle, and resumes.
