Mowrator S1 Models Compared

Mowrator's S1 line is five configurations of one remote-controlled platform: a 2WD entry model, two standard 4WD builds separated by battery size, and two special tire editions that push slope capability to 85 and 119 percent. The differences that matter are drivetrain, battery, and tires. Specifications below come from the manufacturer; prices are current store prices, and a dash marks figures Mowrator has not published.

All models below are from a single manufacturer. RoboticsSelect is an authorized dealer; specifications come from the manufacturer's official documentation.

All five S1 configurations share one platform - and one philosophy: these are remote-controlled mowers you drive with a professional handheld controller (5 ms response), not autonomous robots. Every model cuts a 21-inch swath with 1985W of peak power and 6.0 ft-lbs of torque, mulches or side-discharges, vacuums leaves at 931 CFM into a 70 L bag, steers zero-turn at up to 3.4 mph, and covers about half an acre per hour inside an IP54-sealed aluminum and steel build. What separates them is drivetrain, battery, and rubber: 2WD versus four-motor 4WD, 12Ah versus 18Ah, and three tire fits that move the slope rating from 45 to 119 percent. Warranty is identical everywhere - 2 years or 2,000 hours on mower, remote, and battery - so choose by your steepest grade and how long each session needs to run.

Which Mowrator S1 should you buy?

S1 2WD

$2,499.00

Choose the S1 2WD for flat-to-moderate lawns with the occasional bank or ditch. At $2,499 it is the value entry to remote-controlled mowing: 45 percent (24-degree) slope capability on deformable-tread tires, the tallest cutting range in the family at 1.8 to 4.6 inches, overgrowth handling to 27 inches, and the lightest chassis at 99.2 pounds.

S1 4WD 12Ah

$3,499.00

Choose the S1 4WD 12Ah when the ground turns serious but sessions stay under about three quarters of an acre. Four independent brushless wheel motors put down 1000W of traction for 75 percent (37-degree) grades, 3.94 inches of clearance and 51-inch overgrowth capability come with the 4WD deck, and the platform accepts Mowrator's snow plow kit for winter.

S1 4WD 18Ah

$3,999.00

Choose the S1 4WD 18Ah for bigger properties on the same 75 percent slope drivetrain. The 18Ah LiFePO4 battery stretches runtime to 2.25 hours - about 1.125 acres per charge - with a roughly 90-minute fast charge, making it the standard-tire flagship for acre-plus banks, basins, and rough ground.

Wide Wheel Edition

$4,299.00

Choose the Wide Wheel Edition for steep AND soft: pond edges, irrigation banks, and springtime lawns where narrow tires sink or spin. The wider contact patch adds flotation on damp turf and raises slope capability to 85 percent (40 degrees), on the 18Ah battery and 4WD drivetrain.

Grip Tread Tire Edition

$4,399.00

Choose the Grip Tread Tire Edition for the terrain everything else refuses. Its 12 mm non-directional tread teeth bite into mud, wet grass, and extreme grades for a 119 percent (50-degree) rating - the steepest capability in our store - on the same 18Ah, four-motor platform. Dam faces, highway embankments, terraced hillsides: this is the specialist.

Mowrator comparison FAQs

Are these robot mowers?

No - and that is the draw. Every S1 is a remote-controlled lawncare machine: you drive it with a professional handheld controller with a 5-millisecond response and dual 2.4 GHz antennas, standing on stable ground while the mower works the slope. There is no boundary wire, no RTK base station, no mapping, and no app dependence; cruise control and IMU-based auto U-turns handle the repetitive parts, and firmware updates arrive over the air.

12Ah or 18Ah - which battery do I need?

The 56V 12Ah pack (S1 2WD and 4WD 12Ah) runs up to 1.5 hours - about three quarters of an acre - and fast-charges in roughly 70 minutes. The 18Ah pack (4WD 18Ah, Wide Wheel, Grip Tread) runs up to 2.25 hours and about 1.125 acres, recharging in about 90 minutes. Both are automotive-grade LiFePO4 rated for 1,500+ cycles and detachable, so a spare battery doubles any session.

What do the tire editions actually change?

Rubber, and with it the slope rating. The standard 4WD tires are rated to 75 percent (37 degrees). The Wide Wheel Edition spreads a larger contact patch with bold straight tread for 85 percent (40 degrees) plus flotation on soft or damp ground. The Grip Tread Tire Edition runs 12 mm non-directional tread teeth that dig into mud and wet slopes for 119 percent (50 degrees). Drivetrain, deck, battery, and controller are otherwise identical across the three.

What warranty applies, and who handles support?

Every S1 carries Mowrator's 2-year warranty for residential use: mower, remote controller, and battery are each covered for 2 years or 2,000 hours of use, whichever comes first, with 1 year on the charger; blades and tires are wear items, and Mowrator asks for an unboxing video on arrival to qualify for free after-sales service. As an authorized dealer, RoboticsSelect handles warranty service directly - email support@roboticsselect.com or call (412) 415-7375, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm EST.
