Frequently Asked Questions

How does the AirSeekers Tron know where to mow?

It uses RTK GPS for centimeter-accurate positioning combined with multiple onboard cameras for obstacle detection. During first setup you walk the perimeter once with the included remote, the Tron records the boundary, and from then on it mows autonomously. No buried boundary wires, no markers in the lawn. The RTK base station is included and broadcasts corrections to the mower over a 433 MHz radio link.

How big a yard can it handle?

Up to 1.5 acres on a single charge with the standard battery. The mowing pattern is optimized for coverage efficiency, not random bouncing, so even at the upper limit the Tron typically completes a full mow in 4 to 6 hours. Larger yards are supported by allowing multiple sessions; the mower remembers what it has already cut and resumes the unmowed areas after charging.

Does it cut on a schedule or do I have to start it manually?

Both. You can set weekly schedules from the mobile app (e.g., Monday and Thursday mornings) and the Tron will deploy automatically, mow, and return to its charging dock. Manual start is also available from the app or the unit itself. Rain detection automatically pauses scheduled mowing during precipitation and resumes after the lawn dries.

Is there a subscription fee for the app or RTK service?

No. The included RTK base station handles its own corrections; there is no monthly fee for an external GPS correction service. The mobile app is free and does not have a subscription tier. Firmware updates are pushed over the air at no charge.

Will it avoid pets, children, and obstacles?

The forward-facing cameras detect humans, pets, and standard obstacles in real time and stop within 0.5 meters (1.6 feet). Pets that approach during mowing trigger an immediate stop and a slow back-away maneuver. The blade has a contact sensor that stops rotation immediately on impact. As with any robotic mower, supervise initial operation when pets are nearby and avoid leaving small children unattended in the mowing area.

How does it handle complex yard shapes with islands and obstacles?

Permanent obstacles (trees, garden beds, sheds) are added during setup as exclusion zones in the app. The Tron mows around them automatically. Temporary obstacles (toys, hose, dropped items) are detected by the cameras and avoided in real time. For yards with many islands, expect setup time of 30 to 60 minutes the first time; after that, no further configuration is needed.

What cutting heights are available and what grass types are supported?

Cutting height adjusts from 1 inch to 4 inches in 0.25-inch increments via the app. Standard residential turfgrasses (Kentucky bluegrass, fescue, ryegrass, bermuda, zoysia) are supported. The blade is a 9-inch disc with three swappable blades. Mulching is the standard mode; the blade design returns clippings to the soil rather than collecting them.

How does it charge and how long does charging take?

It returns to the included charging dock automatically when battery drops below threshold. A full charge from 0 to 100 percent takes approximately 90 minutes. Operating time per charge is 2 to 3 hours depending on grass density and slope. The dock connects to a standard outdoor outlet and is rated for permanent outdoor installation.

Is it weatherproof?

Yes. IPX5 rating: handles rain and washing without damage. Operate in temperatures from 0 C (32 F) to 50 C (122 F). Avoid mowing during heavy storms (the rain sensor will pause it anyway), and store in the dock or a covered area for extended off-season periods. The lithium-ion battery should not be left below 10 percent charge for long periods.

How loud is it during operation?

Approximately 60 dB at 10 meters (33 feet), comparable to a normal conversation. Quiet enough to mow during early-morning or late-evening hours without disturbing neighbors. Most homeowners associations that restrict gas mowers do not restrict robotic mowers because of the noise reduction.

What is the warranty?

2-year manufacturer warranty on the mower body, 1 year on the battery. Blades and rubber wheels are wear items not covered after 6 months. RoboticsSelect provides authorized warranty service. Damage from running over hard objects (rocks, irrigation heads, dog toys) is not covered; the camera system is designed to avoid these but cannot guarantee detection of every obstacle.
