Sunseeker Collection: Must-Have Summer Essentials
The Sunseeker collection at RoboticsSelect covers seven robotic lawn mowers, and for a summer of hands-off yard maintenance the right one depends on your lawn, not on the newest model number. Seven Sunseeker models are available today, with coverage ratings from a quarter acre to 3 acres and two different wire-free navigation systems. This guide sorts them by yard size, slope, and setup so you can pick the one that fits.
Key takeaways
- Seven Sunseeker mowers are available at RoboticsSelect: X4, X3 Plus, X5 Gen 2, X7, X7 Plus, X7 Plus Gen 2, and X7 Pro.
- The X4 maps with onboard 360-degree LiDAR and needs no antenna; every other model pairs RTK satellite positioning with camera vision and ships with its reference station.
- Slope capability runs from 30 percent on the X3 Plus to 70 percent (35 degrees) on the whole X7 family.
- Every model carries Sunseeker's 2-Year Worry-Free Warranty, with warranty support handled by RoboticsSelect as an authorized dealer.
What does the Sunseeker collection include?
Sunseeker is an industrial-scale manufacturer, founded in Shanghai in 2009, and its X series is the deepest robotic mower bench we stock. The seven models available now split by lawn size. The X4 and X3 Plus cover small yards up to 0.25 and 0.3 acre. The X5 Gen 2 covers half an acre, the X7 covers 0.75 acre, the X7 Plus and X7 Plus Gen 2 reach 1.5 acres, and the X7 Pro tops out at a full 3 acres.
None of them needs a boundary wire. Most run AONavi, which fuses RTK satellite positioning with VSLAM camera tracking and Vision AI obstacle recognition; RTK means the mower corrects its satellite fix against a reference station in your yard for centimeter-level accuracy. The X4 goes a different way entirely, with a 360-degree 3D LiDAR that builds its own map, so there is no station or antenna to install. The full Sunseeker collection shows current availability and pricing.
| Model | Rated coverage | Slope capability |
|---|---|---|
| Sunseeker X4 | Up to 0.25 acre | 45 percent (24 degrees) |
| Sunseeker X3 Plus | Up to 0.3 acre | 30 percent (17 degrees) |
| Sunseeker X5 Gen 2 | Up to 0.5 acre | 60 percent (30 degrees) |
| Sunseeker X7 | Up to 0.75 acre | 70 percent (35 degrees) |
| Sunseeker X7 Plus | Up to 1.5 acres | 70 percent (35 degrees) |
| Sunseeker X7 Plus Gen 2 | Up to 1.5 acres | 70 percent (35 degrees) |
| Sunseeker X7 Pro | Up to 3 acres | 70 percent (35 degrees) |
Treat coverage as an upper bound, not a target. A mower rated for a given acreage can still be a poor fit if the yard has narrow passages, heavy tree cover over an RTK antenna, or grades beyond its slope rating. Full specifications for every model sit on our Sunseeker comparison page.
Small yards: X4 and X3 Plus
Sunseeker X4
The X4 is sold for quarter-acre yards and navigates with LidarAI, a 360-degree 3D LiDAR that captures over 210,000 point clouds per second across a 360 by 70 degree field of view, fused with Vision AI camera perception. Sunseeker calls the result Drop and Go: place the charging station, let the mower build its own 3D map, then adjust zones and no-go areas in the app. Because it senses with laser point clouds rather than satellite fixes, it keeps its bearings under heavy tree cover, along walls, and in low light.
It cuts a 7.9 inch swath with a six-blade floating disc, with cutting height from 0.8 to 2.4 inches. Rear-wheel drive with off-road wheels and rear suspension climbs slopes up to 45 percent (24 degrees), the body is rated IPX6, and it detects rain automatically. The X4 won a German Innovation Award for its design.

Sunseeker X3 Plus
The X3 Plus is rated for lawns up to 0.3 acre (about 13,000 square feet) and uses AONavi Fusion, pairing RTK positioning with Vision AI tracking. Its signature is Ride-on-Edge cutting: the mower rides its wheel along walls, fences, and borders to trim the strip other robot mowers leave behind. It manages up to 6 zones with separate schedules, cuts 7.9 inches wide at 1.6 to 3.2 inches of height, handles slopes up to 30 percent (17 degrees), and runs at a quiet 59 dB(A). At 19.9 pounds it is easy to carry between front and back yards, and it connects over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 4G.
Mid-size lawns: X5 Gen 2 and X7
Sunseeker X5 Gen 2
The X5 Gen 2 is rated for lawns up to 0.5 acre (about 2,000 square meters). It brings Sunseeker's Gen 2 platform to the mid-range: tri-wheel all-wheel drive with independent suspension, 8.7 inch off-road wheels, and a rear active steering motor that turns without tearing up the grass, for slopes up to 60 percent (30 degrees). Vision AI 2.0 pairs a binocular camera for daytime with an iToF camera for night work behind a 10 TOPS AI chip, so obstacle avoidance keeps working after dark.
An 8.7 inch floating cutting disc adapts to uneven terrain, and a dedicated edge disc works within 1.2 inches of borders, the closest edge cutting in our lineup. It is rated IPX5, detects rain, runs at about 60 dB(A), and takes a 4G-GPS anti-theft module as an optional add-on.
Sunseeker X7
The X7 is rated for 0.75 acre on the original all-wheel-drive platform with independent front suspension and zero-turn steering, climbing slopes up to 70 percent (35 degrees). Dual floating cutting discs span 14 inches with height adjustable from 0.8 to 4.0 inches in the app, and up to 100 mowing zones can each get their own schedule. Binocular 3D Vision AI recognizes over 200 types of obstacles, the body is IPX5, and it supports Alexa and Google Assistant.
Large properties: X7 Plus, X7 Plus Gen 2, and X7 Pro
Sunseeker X7 Plus
The X7 Plus extends the X7 platform to properties up to 1.5 acres, working at roughly 0.11 acre (200 square meters) per hour and managing over 100 mowing zones for grounds split by drives, paths, and planting. It adds 4G and GPS connectivity so the mower stays trackable where home Wi-Fi does not reach. Cutting hardware matches the X7: 14 inch dual floating discs, 0.8 to 4.0 inches of height, and 70 percent slope capability.
Sunseeker X7 Plus Gen 2
The X7 Plus Gen 2 covers the same 1.5 acres on the current platform. Its 18 V, 10 Ah battery runs about 2 hours per charge and recharges in roughly 1.4 hours, and the tri-wheel AWD chassis with rear active steering climbs 70 percent grades. The 4G-GPS anti-theft module is standard here, with real-time tracking, digital geofencing with boundary alerts, and power-off protection. Vision AI 2.0 day and night sensing and a 14 inch dual-disc system with six blades round it out.

Sunseeker X7 Pro
The X7 Pro is the coverage flagship of our entire store, rated for properties up to 3 acres. It shares the X7 family formula of AONavi RTK plus VSLAM navigation, binocular Vision AI with over 200 recognized obstacle types, 14 inch dual floating discs with automatic height adaptation, and 70 percent slope capability, and the platform supports lawn scarifying. An optional 4G-GPS module adds tracking.

What comes in the box, and what wears out
Sunseeker accessories are mostly included components rather than separate purchases. The X4 ships with its charging station and charger, 12 spare blades, 12 spare screws, a LiDAR cleaning cloth, a cleaning brush, and 8 charging station nails. The X7 and X7 Plus ship with the charging station, the RTK base station and its charger, 18 replacement blades, 4 expansion bolts, and station nails. Every RTK-based X model includes its reference station in the box, with no positioning subscription.
Blades are the one recurring cost. Sunseeker recommends replacing them every 1 to 2 months on new lawns, with longer intervals once a lawn is established, and blades are excluded from warranty as wear items. A regular garden hose is fine for cleaning; a pressure washer is not.
Tip
The charging station becomes a fixed point: Sunseeker says moving it later means rebuilding the map. Give it flat, level ground with 60 inches of open space in front, and mount an RTK reference station upright, under open sky, more than 20 inches from walls or fences. Our robotic lawn mower buying guide covers setup for every brand we carry.
A quick yard assessment before you choose
Measure the mowable area only, excluding patios, beds, and buildings. Walk the steepest section and be honest about it, because slope ratings assume dry grass. Note tree cover and tight sky views: heavy shade over the antenna favors the LiDAR-guided X4, while open lots suit the RTK models. Count separate lawn zones, since the X3 Plus manages 6 and the X7 family manages 100 or more. Then match the smallest model that clears every one of those checks; buying for the easy front yard when the real problem is the back slope is the most common mistake.

The takeaway
The Sunseeker collection is a robotic mower lineup that covers everything from a quarter-acre lot to 3 acres without changing brands. Pick the X4 for the simplest setup and shaded yards, the X3 Plus for edge-heavy small lawns, the X5 Gen 2 for a manicured half acre, and the X7 family as the property grows. Compare all seven side by side in our autonomous robotic mowers collection.

FAQ
Do Sunseeker mowers need a boundary wire?
No. The X4 maps with onboard 360-degree 3D LiDAR and needs no antenna. Every other X model pairs RTK satellite positioning with camera vision, and its RTK reference station is included in the box with no positioning subscription.
Which Sunseeker is best for a shaded yard?
The X4. Because it senses with laser point clouds rather than satellite fixes, it keeps its bearings under heavy tree cover, along walls, and in low light, where an RTK antenna would struggle for a clear sky view.
Which Sunseeker handles the steepest slopes?
The X7 family (X7, X7 Plus, X7 Plus Gen 2, and X7 Pro) is rated for 70 percent grades (35 degrees). The X5 Gen 2 manages 60 percent, the X4 45 percent, and the X3 Plus 30 percent. See the Sunseeker comparison for every figure.
What does Gen 2 add over the earlier X series?
The Gen 2 platform adds tri-wheel AWD with rear active steering and independent suspension, Vision AI 2.0 with binocular day and iToF night detection, and on the X5 Gen 2, edge cutting to within 1.2 inches of borders. The earlier X3 Plus, X7, X7 Plus, and X7 Pro remain current products with the same warranty.
What warranty do Sunseeker mowers carry?
Every Sunseeker mower we sell carries the manufacturer's 2-Year Worry-Free Warranty for residential use; cutting blades are wear items. RoboticsSelect is an authorized Sunseeker dealer, so claims run through us at support@roboticsselect.com or (412) 415-7375.
Can Sunseeker mowers mow at night?
The Gen 2 models (X5 Gen 2 and X7 Plus Gen 2) pair a binocular daytime camera with an iToF night camera, so obstacle avoidance works after dark. The X4's LiDAR also keeps working in low light.
