Chasing (CHASING Innovation) is a Shenzhen underwater-robotics company founded in 2016. It became one of the best-known names in consumer underwater drones - selling ROVs in more than 40 countries - before bringing that submarine engineering to robotic pool cleaners. RoboticsSelect carries the Chasing pool range, from the entry Hydro 3 to the LiDAR-mapping L1 Ultra.
What makes Chasing different
Chasing did not start in the pool business - it started underneath it. CHASING Innovation was founded in 2016 in Shenzhen and made its name building consumer and professional underwater drones, beginning with the crowdfunded Gladius ROV. A decade of engineering sealed thrusters, underwater navigation, and pressure-resistant electronics is exactly the skill set robotic pool cleaning demands, and it shows in how the pool line navigates and survives salt and chlorine.
The flagship L1 Ultra is the clearest example: it scans the pool with a 360-degree LiDAR before cleaning, builds a real-time map, and pairs it with an AI vision camera that recognizes debris types - leaves, sand, hair - and adjusts suction and routing accordingly. The result is an optimized S-shaped path that Chasing rates at 95 percent coverage. The more affordable Hydro series uses the same S-path discipline (HydroCurve navigation), salt-resistant 160 W motors, and app scheduling. Across the range, cleaners auto-surface at the pool edge when a cycle ends - you can even set a custom retrieval point in the app.
The Chasing lineup at RoboticsSelect
The L1 Ultra heads the range with LiDAR mapping, AI vision, dual pumps, and up to 5 hours of runtime per charge. The Hydro 4 comes in battery and corded versions, and the Hydro 3S delivers app control, four cleaning modes, and up to 300 minutes of Eco-mode runtime for mid-size pools. The entry Hydro 3 covers pools up to about 1,076 square feet at the lowest price in the line.
