Model Comparison
Chasing Pool Cleaners Compared
Chasing sells five robotic pool cleaners through RoboticsSelect: the entry Hydro 3, the app-controlled Hydro 3S, the Hydro 4 in corded and battery versions, and the LiDAR-mapping L1 Ultra. This page compares those five models with each other only. The table sets out power source, pool size rating, navigation, suction, modes, runtime and warranty side by side; the picks below say who each model suits. Specifications come from Chasing's product documentation as published on our listings.
All models on this page are from a single manufacturer, Chasing. RoboticsSelect is an authorized Chasing dealer; specifications come from Chasing's official product documentation. Chasing products are not compared against other brands.

Every Chasing cleaner in our store shares the same 4.1-liter dual-zone basket, 180-micron filtration, floor, wall and waterline coverage, and a 0.5 to 3 meter (1.6 to 9.8 foot) depth range on concrete, vinyl, fiberglass and tile. The differences are in three places: how the unit is powered (a built-in battery charged through a port on the unit, a floating battery buoy, a deck cable, or an onboard battery with a wireless dock), how it navigates (standard path, HydroCurve S-path planning, or LiDAR mapping with AI vision), and how much you can do from the app. Prices in the table are live store prices.
Which Chasing pool cleaner should you buy?
Chasing Hydro 3
Choose the Hydro 3 for a small pool (Chasing rates it for 861 to 1,076 square feet) when you want cordless floor, wall and waterline cleaning at the lowest price in the line. You pick a mode on the unit, drop it in, and it docks at the pool edge when the 200-minute cycle ends or the battery runs low. It gives up HydroCurve path planning and app scheduling, and it carries a 1-year warranty rather than the 2 years on the rest of the range.
Chasing Hydro 3S
Choose the Hydro 3S when you want planned coverage and app control without stepping up to the Hydro 4. HydroCurve S-shaped navigation covers up to 95 percent of the pool with about 30 percent less overlap than random paths, the Chasing app adds weekly schedules, four modes and over-the-air updates, and Eco mode stretches a charge to 300 minutes. Same 16.5-pound body and built-in 11,000 mAh battery as the Hydro 3, rated for pools up to about 1,614 square feet.
Chasing Hydro 4 Corded
Choose the Hydro 4 Corded when runtime matters more than a cable-free deck: it runs on continuous AC power through a 49.2-foot anti-snag cable, so 1, 2 and 3 hour cycles never stop to recharge and there is no buoy to charge. It shares the Hydro 4 Battery's dual PVC rollers, Ultra Boost suction, waterline side jets and 360-degree manual steering from the app. Plan on coiling the cable after each cycle.
Chasing Hydro 4 Battery
Choose the Hydro 4 Battery for a medium to large pool (up to 1,614 square feet) where you want the Hydro 4's suction, dual active rollers and app steering without a deck cable. The floating buoy powers up to 3.5 hours of cleaning per charge, the unit parks at the edge and floats up for pickup, and the buoy is covered by the 2-year warranty alongside the drive and pump motors.
Chasing L1 Ultra
Choose the L1 Ultra when you want the pool handled on a schedule with the least supervision. It is the only Chasing model with 360-degree LiDAR mapping and AI vision debris detection, the strongest suction in the line at up to 504 liters per minute with three suction levels, an onboard 11,000 mAh battery that charges on a wireless dock, and a custom surfacing point you set in the app. Chasing states it cleans a 320-square-foot pool in around 30 minutes at close to 95 percent coverage, and a weekly schedule keeps it running for up to two weeks unattended.
Chasing comparison FAQs
Built-in battery, buoy, cable, or dock: what is the practical difference?
The Hydro 3 and Hydro 3S carry a built-in battery inside the unit and charge through a port under a rubber cover, so there is nothing floating on the surface, but the whole robot comes out of the pool to charge (about 4 hours). The Hydro 4 Battery draws power from a detachable buoy that floats on the surface and tethers to the robot, so the deck stays clear but the buoy has to be charged between cycles. The Hydro 4 Corded uses a 49.2-foot cable to a power supply on the deck, which removes charging and runtime limits. The L1 Ultra carries its own 11,000 mAh battery and recharges on a wireless dock, with no buoy or cable in the water.
Which models can I schedule from the app?
The Hydro 3S, both Hydro 4 versions and the L1 Ultra pair with the Chasing app for weekly schedules, mode changes and remote control; the Hydro 4 models add 360-degree manual steering, and the L1 Ultra adds Wi-Fi cloud control from anywhere plus a custom surfacing point. The Hydro 3 is operated from the controls on the unit. On the battery-powered models the Bluetooth link drops once the unit is submerged, so choose the mode before lowering it in.
Do all Chasing cleaners climb walls and clean the waterline?
Yes. All five models clean the floor, the walls and the waterline on concrete, vinyl, fiberglass and tile, and every one uses the same 4.1-liter dual-zone basket with 180-micron mesh. The Hydro 3S accepts an optional hyper-fine filter, and the L1 Ultra accepts an optional 50-micron plush-fabric basket for sand and pollen.
How do the warranties differ?
The Hydro 3 carries Chasing's 1-year limited warranty on the main unit and core systems; the Hydro 3S, Hydro 4 Corded, Hydro 4 Battery and L1 Ultra carry 2-year limited warranties. On every model, consumable and wear parts such as the filter basket, brushes and tracks are covered for 6 months. Coverage applies to units bought from Chasing or an authorized Chasing dealer such as RoboticsSelect, and warranty service requires proof of purchase.
