WLKATA (Beijing Tsinew Technologies) was founded in 2017 in Beijing's Zhongguancun technology district and builds miniature industrial-style robotic arms for education. Its Mirobot - an open, 6-axis desktop arm - and the rebuildable metal MT4 are used by schools and universities in more than 60 countries to teach everything from block-based programming to ROS 2, MATLAB, and machine vision. What makes WLKATA different
WLKATA's founding idea was to shrink a real industrial robot onto a school desk. The Mirobot is a 6+1-axis arm with 0.2 mm repeatability - the same kinematic structure students will meet on factory cobots - at a price a classroom can justify. The MT4 takes the opposite lesson: a 4+1-axis palletizing arm with a CNC metal frame, 0.1 mm repeatability, and 500 g payload that students can fully disassemble and rebuild with a hex tool, turning mechanical assembly itself into curriculum.
The software path is the other differentiator. Every WLKATA arm starts in Blockly for absolute beginners, then progresses through Python and G-code to ROS, ROS 2, MATLAB, and simulation tools like CoppeliaSim and NVIDIA Omniverse - so one platform can serve a middle-school elective and a university robotics course. Kits ship with real textbooks and teacher guides, and the ecosystem grows outward: conveyor belts, sliding rails, AGV rover bases, and AI vision sets combine into desktop mini production lines for sorting, assembly, and pick-and-place training.
